"Taking human resources as a dominant factor and R&D as an initiator of the enterprise" is the principle of our company. "Plan of Share Holding by Staff" of BIRD is the stable base for company development in the future.

In the past 12 years, there were two sides in BIRD technical development strategy---Independent Innovation and Cooperation with famous company. In order to improve R&D ability, BIRD set up research platform with top mobile phone manufacturers, such as Siemens, Broadcom, Motorola, Philips, and so on. In the meantime, BIRD set up Joint Venture and R&D Institute with Sagem, France.

In the meantime, the annual R&D budget shares over 6% of the total turnover. Bird has set up 5 research institutes which are located in Hangzhou, and Chongqing, etc. and owned a strong R&D team of 500 professionals, including Ph.D, Masters and Foreign experts. Since the second half year of 2002, two third products of all BIRD products were designed independently by BIRD, and covered the fields of low, middle and high-end.
